Dear KU investigators and research stakeholders,

As announced earlier this year, exciting changes for management of sponsored awards at KU will be occurring over the next six months. In order to improve customer service and reduce administrative burden for investigators and improve satisfaction for all stakeholders, the overall structure of award management support and its related processes will be reviewed and enhanced. Staff who currently work in Shared Service Center Research units and Office of Research post-award staff with award management duties will perform day-to-day sponsored award management tasks in a newly created award management unit.

To ensure this new unit will meet your needs, we need your help to identify what areas of award management are working well now and what areas need improvement. Please register for one of the following listening sessions, specifically designed for you to provide feedback and discuss these issues with peers. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about how to join the meeting.

Sessions for KU researchers

  • March 22 | 10 – 11 a.m.
  • March 25 | 8:30 – 9:30 a.m.

Sessions for research stakeholders
(staff in central offices, academic units/schools, research centers, SSC-HR, SSC-finance, and non-PAS Office of Research)

  • March 22 | 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.
  • March 23 | 3 – 4 p.m.

If you are unable to participate in one of the sessions above, you are invited to provide feedback through the Award Management Feedback Form or via email to Alicia or Amy.

Thank you in advance for your time. Your support will help make this transformation successful.

Respectfully,

Alicia and Amy
