One KU expansion
As part of KU’s commitment to recognizing excellence in research across the institution, the Warren, Staff and Postdoctoral research achievement awards are being expanded to include all eligible nominees from the University of Kansas Lawrence/Edwards and Medical Center campuses. This enhancement broadens participation and creates a more inclusive framework for celebrating outstanding research accomplishments across the university. By recognizing exceptional scholars from One KU, the awards will further showcase the depth, diversity and impact of research that advances knowledge, innovation and societal well-being throughout Kansas and beyond.
Individuals serving in Office of Research leadership roles are excluded from consideration for internal research achievement awards.
Higuchi-KU Endowment Research Achievement Award
First presented in 1982, the Higuchi Awards are designed to recognize significant research achievement conducted at the University of Kansas or another Regents institution.
KU Research Staff & Postdoctoral Achievement Awards
These awards are intended to recognize the numerous contributions of unclassified professional staff and postdoctoral researchers to the research mission of KU, honoring outstanding individuals who have had a tangible impact in the research labs and projects in which they work.

Steven F. Warren Research Achievement Award
Established in 2006, this award honors outstanding unclassified academic staff researchers whose work has had significant influence in their field and has expanded intellectual or societal insights.
