Working together across campus, we’ll build a culture of faculty recognition that demonstrates KU is an institution that values and supports innovation and celebrates researchers who make discoveries that change the world.

“The work outlined in these projects demonstrates the critical role of research in advancing racial equity in our communities,” said Belinda Sturm, interim vice chancellor for research.

Four faculty members received the state higher education system’s most prestigious recognition for scholarly excellence.

The annual awards recognize outstanding unclassified academic staff, unclassified professional staff and postdoctoral fellows whose research has significantly influenced their fields and expanded intellectual or societal insights.

Honorees are researchers, scholars or creators of national or international stature who have contributed significantly to society, their disciplines, the local and/or university community — and who have demonstrated a commitment to developing future leaders in their fields through mentoring.
