Pre-comprehensive exam graduate students (Ph.D. aspirants) are expected to complete a limited experimental or theoretical work plan. The research project in this period has a scope and depth appropriate to a Master's level dissertation. As determined by the faculty mentor and the individual's doctoral dissertation committee, the post-comprehensive graduate student will provide written and oral progress reports, participate in Departmental seminars and follow and attend all safety and training programs pertinent to their research programs.
